How do I choose the right frame?
The most important aspect of choosing your frame is the size. We suggest checking your current glasses. It will say something like 54/19 on the side or perhaps inside the bridge area.
It’s best to choose something which is a similar size to present assuming that you don’t feel your current glasses are too large or too small.
Of course, the style and colour are up to you.
Think about your own facial features as well. If you have a small nose with a very low bridge, you may be better suited to metal frames which can be adjusted and allow the frame to sit up a little and not touch your cheeks.
How do I choose the right lenses?
Blue blocking lenses are for evening wear at home, so consider how you spend your evenings generally. Also, it will depend on your prescription and your age.
If your prescription only has a single vision prescription for distance glasses, then there is no choice. You must have single vision distance glasses which will serve all purposes. Generally speaking, this includes all people under the age about 45.
If your prescription has a ‘reading addition’ and you currently wear progressive lenses (multifocals with no line) then it is best to order progressive lenses. If you are currently wearing bifocals, order bifocals.
For those of you who only need a reading prescription, you may consider ordering progressives, or the simpler option of bifocals. Because reading glasses are only used when viewing something near, you will lose your blue light protection when they are removed. Bifocals allow you to see distance as well as near. They are perfect for reading, laptops, tablets and watching T.V.
If your computer is a desk top computer, then they are not the best option, because what you are reading needs to be below eye level. For desktop computers, the enhanced near option is best, but remember they are not suitable for distance vision or walking around.
These would be a good option if your evenings are spent exclusively on a desktop computer.
